Students may be asked to submit assessments digitally. The University reserves the right to conduct scheduled tests and examinations online or through the use of computers or other electronic devices. Where tests or examinations are conducted online remote invigilation arrangements may be used. In exceptional circumstances changes to elements of this course may be necessary at short notice. Students enrolled in this course will be informed of any such changes and the reasons for them, as soon as possible, through Canvas.

Feedback on taught courses is gathered from students at the end of each semester through a tool called SET or Qualtrics. The lecturers and course co-ordinators will consider all feedback and respond with summaries and actions. Your feedback helps teachers to improve the course and its delivery for future students. In addition, class Representatives in each class can take feedback to the department and faculty staff-student consultative committees.

This year is the first time we are back on the city campus and we will evaluate during this year whether two hour fortnightly labs or one hour weekly labs are more effective.  The class does include practical components.  We are happy to work with you to make that a good experience so do come and see us or contact us before class if you have any questions or concerns.

University work is difficult and sometimes life gets in the way. The main thing is don’t let issues compound. Adopt as a matter of course the practice of talking to Judith and Caitlin during your labs, during our office hours, seeing us not just when things are wrong but when things are going right. We are interested in ensuring that you all do well in this course to take advantage of us and our expertise.

The Student Learning Centre is located in Room 320 of the Kate Edger Information Commons, and their hours are 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Tuakana Arts Undergraduate Mentoring Programme Tuakana Tutors are available to help Maori and Pacific Island students and others through a range of opportunities such as study groups, skill based workshops, and one-on-one assistance. Your Tuakana tutor for this course will be introduced both in person (in class) and via Canvas early on in the course.
