Employability is more than just crafting a good CV and doing well in an interview. It is about continuous reflection on skills, strengths and values to connect these to work that is right for each individual. Designed to complement and expand on the skills students are developing in their subject-based courses, the specific goals of CAREER100 are for students to;
- further develop skills, awareness and confidence in preparation for work life after graduation.
- work on a ‘real life’ innovative problem-solving challenge in partnership with a national organisation.
Through a weekly lecture and workshops the course unpacks and applies the skills research tells us are key to career success. It also focusses on self-awareness, teamwork, problem solving, innovation and presentation skills to ensure students are well equipped for both the job search process and life on the job.
By completing this course students can give themselves the best possible chance of succeeding as they move beyond university into their career.
