This course enables the student to provide evidence of their clinical competence of radiographic imaging of the appendicular skeleton, chest, abdomen and pelvis (at a novice level), recognising the importance of synthesising theory and clinical practice elements. Emphasis will be placed on the student being a patient advocate in the clinical setting.
The course is delivered primarily at Grafton campus and will be based on a blended delivery model, with supporting resources provided online via the University of Auckland’s learning management system Canvas.
Students will also be required to complete a six-week clinical placement block during which time clinical competency will be assessed.
Clinical competency will be assessed through practical assessments during the clinical placement.
Academic learning is expected to inform clinical practice and enhance levels of clinical competency.
This course is compulsory for the BMedImag(Hons) programme. Only students admitted to this programme are eligible to enrol in this course.
