Laboratory experience in this course may require participation in physical activity/exercise that has risks of potential adverse events. Students may be asked to submit assessments digitally. The University reserves the right to conduct scheduled tests and examinations online or through the use of computers or other electronic devices. Where tests or examinations are conducted online remote invigilation arrangements may be used. In exceptional circumstances changes to elements of this course may be necessary at short notice. Students enrolled in this course will be informed of any such changes and the reasons for them, as soon as possible, through Canvas.

This course involves working with clients, members of the public, in our Health and Rehabilitation Clinic or with an approved partner organization like the University of Auckland Recreation Centre. All students will need to agree to our "Standards of Behaviour and Practice" and to adhere to Health and Safety protocols before practical hours can be undertaken.

You must be able to attend the assigned workplace learning placement site(s) in person at the agreed time(s), day(s), and week(s) as agreed to in the workplace-learning contract negotiated and signed at the beginning of the term. At least 40 hours of practical experience is expected in this course.

Work-integrated learning placement sites may be located at both on- and off-campus sites in and around Auckland. You may have to travel by personal or public transport to and from the placement site. It is possible that some work-integrated learning placement sites will require attendance outside of standard teaching hours (e.g., evenings). This will be negotiated with you and any agreement to this requirement will be included in the work-integrated learning contract.

Some work-integrated learning sites may require you to have current First Aid and AED/CPR training. You are not required to hold current certification, but you may have fewer options for placement opportunities if you do not have this certification. Evidence of First Aid training is typically required for professional registration and courses are regularly offered by private providers for a fee.

Feedback on taught courses is gathered from students at the end of each semester through a tool called SET or Qualtrics. The lecturers and course co-ordinators will consider all feedback and respond with summaries and actions. Your feedback helps teachers to improve the course and its delivery for future students. In addition, class Representatives in each class can take feedback to the department and faculty staff-student consultative committees.
