This course is offered both as an in-person (on-campus) course and as an online (off-campus) course:

Campus Experience 

Attendance is encouraged at scheduled activities, including lectures and tutorial discussions. Lectures content will be made available as a recording. Tutorials are not recorded. All assignments are to be submitted via CANVAS. Students are encouraged to use both e-readings and actual books available from the University library to complete their coursework.

Online (off-campus)

This course can be taken remotely (off-campus). Off-campus students should enrol in the online tutorial, held via Zoom at a set time each week. Lecture content will be made available as a recording. Tutorials are not recorded. All assignments are to be submitted via CANVAS. Students can complete assignments using the e-resources available through the University library website.

Compulsory course content: - A 2-hour lecture which students are expected to either attend in person or listen to online every week. - A 1-hour weekly tutorial which students can attend either in-person or online.- A weekly reading (of about 20 pages) which will be discussed in the tutorial and tested in the Comprehension Test and other assignments
Assignments- The Comprehension Test will test lecture and tutorial content for Modules 1-6 of the course (including the compulsory weekly readings)- The History Essay offers students a chance to write a long-form essay (max. 1,500 words) on some aspect of the history of Nazi Germany between 1933 and 1945 (due week 8 or 9). Students will be expected to read at least five 20-page readings to complete this assignment.- The Reflective Assignment (due week 12) offers students a chance to reflect in a creative way on the legacies of Nazi Germany, by focusing on a core theme or idea.

Taught courses use a learning and collaboration tool called Canvas to provide students with learning materials including reading lists and lecture recordings (where available). Please remember that the recording of any class on a personal device requires the permission of the instructor.

All required readings for the course will be made available via CANVAS and TALIS.Students may need to do research in the University library's online or on-campus resources.

Students may be asked to submit assessments digitally. The University reserves the right to conduct scheduled tests and examinations online or through the use of computers or other electronic devices. Where tests or examinations are conducted online remote invigilation arrangements may be used. In exceptional circumstances changes to elements of this course may be necessary at short notice. Students enrolled in this course will be informed of any such changes and the reasons for them, as soon as possible, through Canvas.

Students are expected to complete all three assignments to pass the course.

Feedback on taught courses is gathered from students at the end of each semester through a tool called SET or Qualtrics. The lecturers and course co-ordinators will consider all feedback and respond with summaries and actions. Your feedback helps teachers to improve the course and its delivery for future students. In addition, class Representatives in each class can take feedback to the department and faculty staff-student consultative committees.

The online tutorial has been scheduled for a work-friendly time-slot.
