Attendance is expected at all six study days to undertake components of the course.
Lectures will be recorded, but group work and discussions are best experienced in class. 
The course will include live online events, including online drop-in sessions.
The activities for the course are scheduled as a block delivery.

This textbook is both an essential text for this course and a useful reference for those who may undertake further research as part of their postgraduate studies.  Further required and recommended readings are available from the left-hand menu of the course Canvas page, where you can access the Talis Reading list. It is recommended you do this prior to each of the study days. Additionally, students are expected to locate and read research articles and other readings relevant to the themes chosen for the assignments in this course. If students are unable to purchase the latest edition, they may refer to the 6th Australian and NZ edition, published in 2020.

Students may be asked to submit assessments digitally. The University reserves the right to conduct scheduled tests and examinations online or through the use of computers or other electronic devices. Where tests or examinations are conducted online remote invigilation arrangements may be used. In exceptional circumstances changes to elements of this course may be necessary at short notice. Students enrolled in this course will be informed of any such changes and the reasons for them, as soon as possible, through Canvas.

Feedback on taught courses is gathered from students at the end of each semester through a tool called SET or Qualtrics. The lecturers and course co-ordinators will consider all feedback and respond with summaries and actions. Your feedback helps teachers to improve the course and its delivery for future students. In addition, class Representatives in each class can take feedback to the department and faculty staff-student consultative committees.

Students have noted that a lot of reading and thinking is required to unpack new concepts, introduced in this course. Many students find the initial literature review assignment challenging. Changes to the semester calendar mean students will have more time to consolidate learning from four in-class days before submitting their first assignment. Students appreciate the regular drop-in online sessions, which provide a platform for questioning, clarifying, sharing and reassuring.  Online Zoom sessions will again be part of the course in 2025.
