Reflection of 2025:
Below is a list of activities that were most popular amongst the group:
Laboratory sessions (Semester 1 & 2):
· Helped consolidate information
· Integrated lecture content with practical learning
· Provided additional resources to reinforce understanding
Tutorials:
· Helped students understand the test/exam format
· Supported more effective studying
· Clarified difficult concepts from lectures
Well-structured and organised lectures in Semester 1:
· Clear, logical order of topics
· Made content easier to understand despite being content-heavy
· Appreciated inclusion of lecture objectives on slides
Different lecturers for different sections:
· Offered variety in teaching styles
· Made the experience more engaging and refreshing
Below is a list of common challenges that students faced amongst the group and how they will be addressed:
- Improve clarity around assessments: the tutorial pre-test and exam will continue to include a list of lectures and labs that are examinable
- Stabilise and clarify communication: We will ensure that any cancellations or lecture delivery changes are communicated by 6 pm the day prior
- Improve lecture sequencing: We will lock the lecture order for the year by Week 1 to prevent semester disruptions
- Strengthen lecture–lab alignment: Begin each lab with a 2–3 minute recap of the linked lecture concept
- Reduce last-minute changes to lab material: Lock the lab manual at the beginning of the semester
- Improve assessment format and balance: Review question spread to ensure all labs are proportionally represented and align the time limit more closely with number and type of questions
