SPORT302 is designed to equip students with the leadership knowledge and skills necessary for authentic coaching contexts. Central to this course is the concept of the coach as both an educator and a leader, preparing students to effectively guide individuals and organisations in sport.
Students will critically examine contemporary leadership theories, strategies, and challenges, alongside the politics and policies that shape sporting environments. Through collaborations with second-year students and engagement with the Coach Developer framework, participants will enhance their interpersonal skills and refine their leadership philosophies.
This course focuses on applying leadership concepts relevant to modern coaching and sports management contexts. Graduates of SPORT302 will leave with a deeper understanding of leadership dynamics and the ability to inspire and lead in diverse sporting environments, with an emphasis on continued personal and professional growth.
