Knowledge and Skills

During the Covid-19 pandemic, we learned the important role that science plays in informing decision making, crafting government action and shaping community behaviour.

New Zealand led the world in providing consistent key messaging about how to stay safe and beat the virus. This is an example of science in society.

This module helps you to understand how multiple disciplines contribute to complex problem solving, and the vital role that communication plays in disseminating these understandings to disparate audiences.

Potential Careers

This module will enhance any career involved in working with communities to improve outcomes. Government organisations, NGOs, and entrepreneurial businesses will benefit from the knowledge you will gain in these courses. Increasingly, employers are looking for individuals with sound technical experience who can communicate complex information effectively.

Other information

You must complete the three courses listed below (45 points). Each course is worth 15 points.
Before you can enrol in a Stage II course you need to have passed the prerequisite courses for enrolment in that course.
