Applications for the Bachelor of Global Studies/Bachelor of Health Sciences are temporarily paused while updated programme information is being published. Applications will reopen on 22nd May. Please check back then to apply.

Expose yourself to new ways of thinking about the world. A Bachelor of Global Studies and Bachelor of Health Sciences conjoint enables you to combine one of three majors in the BGlobalSt with a broad range of health science enquiries.

You will learn to apply core population health principles in disease prevention, health policy and promotion, mental health and addiction care, and population health nutrition. Address specific health problems in the community while aligning these issues within a global framework.

The BGlobalSt/BHSc usually takes four years to complete.

You will need to complete a total of 540 points, consisting of:

255 points from BGlobalSt courses
255 points from BHSc courses
15 points General Education
15 points from courses available for any programme at this University.

For the BHSc you can choose from two health majors: Community Health, or Health Systems and Data Analytics.Students who are intending to apply for selection into the Year 2 clinical programmes must also take specific courses in order to be eligible for clinical selection. Please consult the pages of the relevant Year 2 clinical programmes for detailed information.

For the Global Studies component, you will choose one major from the options available:

Global Environment and Sustainable Development

Global Politics and Human Rights

International Relations and Business

You will also take core courses in Global Studies and study a language and a related area of the world. See the Bachelor of Global Studies.

You usually enrol in eight 15-point courses (120 points) each year. However, if you want to complete in four years, you can enrol in nine 15-point courses (135 points) each year (including Summer School). Note that enrolling in five courses in one semester is not advisable for Global Studies students.

You need to maintain a Grade Point Average of 3.5 each year to continue with your conjoint.

Most students need to take one General Education course.

Students should also be aware of the University’s Academic English Language Requirement.

Fees are inclusive of 15% GST, but do not include the Student Services Fee, course books, travel and health insurance, or living costs.
