Programme Overview

The Postgraduate Certificate in Property Practice (PGCertPropPrac) is a short qualification that will enable non-Property graduates to build their business capabilities and equip themselves to enter or progress a career in property.

You can choose from three pathways in this 60-point programme: the Valuation specialisation, the Property Management specialisation and a General pathway.

The specialist pathways are suited to non-Property graduates with work experience who have focused educational goals. They also suit those with overseas experience seeking a New Zealand-specific context to their learning.

The pathways are designed to develop a strong set of advanced capabilities in property theory and practice that will enable you to succeed across a wide range of property industry roles. These inlcude property valuer, property manager, developer, commercial sales broker or leasing agent.

Students usually complete the programme over 6 months (30 points per quarter) or 12 months (15 points per quarter).

The PGCertPropPrac also provides a qualifying pathway to the Master of Property Practice for graduates who do not meet the GPA for direct admission to the programme.
