Overview

Programme Overview

The Master of Business Analytics is suited to recent business and non-business graduates (excluding students who majored in Business Analytics or Data Science), and mid-career professionals who have not completed a Business Analytics qualification.

This programme is practice focused. We will equip you to interrogate business challenges. You will then source, manipulate and analyse data to address issues and inform organisational strategies.

You will also develop a strong portfolio of professional skills that will enable you to communicate effectively to a non-technical audience by using data visualisation tools and storytelling.

Specialisations: You will have a choice of three specialisations. These provide the opportunity to develop and apply analytical techniques in your field. You will engage in a project-based industry capstone course that provides experience in responding to the challenges of working in a live business context with real data.*

*Specialisations are driven by demand and might not be offered every quarter.

Also available: Postgraduate Certificate in Business Analytics (PGCertBusAn). The PGCertBusAn is an alternative pathway for graduates who are initially uncertain about committing to a masters programme. It's also for those who do not achieve the required GPA for direct entry to the MBusAn.

Programme Structure

The Master of Business Analytics is a 15-month, 180-point coursework masters programme studied over five quarters.

You will study six core courses (Part I) addressing data sources for the formulation of business strategies and the analytics required to inform decision-making. Topics will include business analytics and information management tools, storytelling and data visualisation, predictive analytics, and decision-making and optimisation.

In Part II you will choose to focus on Marketing, Supply Chain Management or FinTech, enhancing your skills sets in a disciplinary context. After completing a business consultancy practice course and a course in advanced project management, you will complete an applied industry project.
